Want to experience another culture? Welcome an international student into your home

by: SUBMITTED PHOTO - Pacific International Academy needs host families for students coming to the United States.

The Lake Oswego Adult Community Center encourages seniors wishing to experience another culture to be a host for Pacific International Academy’s Homestay program. Housed on the Marylhurst University campus, the program takes a host family, couple or individual and matches them with an international student. During the matching process the length of time the host family is willing to host and any other preferences are taken into account. The students then become immersed in American community and culture, while improving their English language skills. A homestay is an enriching experience for all involved, full of culture and community. A monthly stipend is also available to offset costs incurred.
