By popular demand, Lake Oswego Parks & Recreation is offering league play for two new sports, FootGolf and cornhole.
FootGolf combines soccer and golf, and is played with a regulation No. 5 soccer ball on shortened holes with a 21-inch diameter cup. Lake Oswego Public Golf Course, 17525 Stafford Road, is equipped for play. It takes about an hour to play nine holes of FootGolf. Gather a team of four or five players and register now. League play takes place Thursday evenings in the early fall. Visit lakeoswegosports.com for all the details.
Cornhole is a popular lawn game in which players take turns throwing bags of corn at a raised platform with a hole in the far end. Points are scored when the bag goes into the hole. Parks & Rec is starting a doubles cornhole league for the 21-and-older crowd, taking place Wednesday evenings in September at the cornhole pits at George Rogers Park, 611 S. State St. Teams can include two or four players. For more information, visit lakeoswegosports.com.
