The Lakewood Center Associates (LCA) will begin its series of monthly lunch meetings and programs Sept. 21 with a special presentation by Christina Robertson-Gardiner, Oregon City project lead for the Vision and Master Plan for the Willamette Falls Legacy Project.

Designated as the first State Heritage Area by the Oregon Heritage Commission in 2015, the Willamette Falls Legacy Project is a collaborative partnership between Oregon City, Clackamas County, Metro and the State of Oregon.

A new river walk connecting historic downtown Oregon City to Willamette Falls is the first step of the Legacy Project. By transforming this abandoned industrial site, visitors will be able to experience the Willamette River and falls from a world-class public space. Robertson-Gardiner will share information about the project and timeline for the revitalization of Oregon City.

The Associates is a group of volunteers whose mission is to promote and serve the Lakewood Center for the Arts. The group oversees fundraising events, and manages the Re-Runs shop, a consignment and gift shop selling furniture, jewelry, antiques and house wares. Re-Runs returns a generous 70 percent of the purchase price to the consignor. Donations of items are also gladly accepted and a tax receipt is provided.

Lakewood Center Associates welcomes new members and others to participate in the monthly luncheon programs held in the lower level at Lakewood Center for the Arts, 368 S. State St., Lake Oswego. The event begins at 10 a.m., business meeting at 10:30 a.m., followed by the program at 11 a.m., and lunch at noon. The charge for lunch is $10, which is payable by cash or check. If you require a vegetarian or gluten-free meal, or no lunch, indicate so when placing your reservation. Direct questions to JoAnn Parsons at 503-620-9092.

Reservations must be made by Sept. 15 by calling 503-620-9092 or emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
