Bank launches Warm Hearts Winter Drive

Columbia Bank is launching its third-annual Warm Hearts Winter Drive to benefit families and individuals struggling with homelessness in the Northwest.

The bank plans to raise $225,000 and collect more than 10,000 items of winter wear to support more than 50 local homeless shelters and aid organizations throughout Washington, Oregon and Idaho.

Columbia Bank employees are securing cash donations and new warm clothing from clients and community members. Donations will be given directly to shelters and relief organizations in the communities where collected. The Portland and Lake Oswego offices will donate items to Portland Rescue Mission.

Donations can be brought to Columbia Bank's Lake Oswego office, 5000 Meadows Road. Financial contributions can also be donated online at warmheartswinterdrive.com. Learn more at columbiabank.com.

Deno's Pizzeria needs help with Angel Tree

Deno's Pizzeria is once again collecting gifts for children attending the Community Transitional School for the Homeless.

A tree at the popular Lake Oswego eatery has been decorated with paper angels containing students' names and ages; community members are asked to take an angel, purchase a gift for the child and return it to Deno's by Dec. 12. Deno's staff will then deliver all the gifts to the school; cash donations can be made directly to the school.

Located in North Portland, the Community Transition School gives homeless children a quality eduction, along with other services including meals, clothing, school supplies and a safe, nurturing environment.

Deno's Pizza is located at 4475 Lakeview Blvd. in Lake Oswego. Hours are Monday through Thursday 11 a.m.-9 p.m.; Friday, 11 a.m.-9:30 p.m.; Saturday, 3-9 p.m.; and Sunday, 4-8 p.m.
