Halloween fun, frights are all around
Want to have some spine-tingling fun? Several opportunities are available for those wishing to get scared just a little or a lot this Halloween season.
Close to home you can go to the Haunted Trail at Mary S. Young Park from 7 to 10 p.m. Oct. 24 and 7 to 10:30 p.m. Oct. 25. Sponsored by West Linn Parks and Recreation, this years theme is Baron Samedis Midnight Traveling Circus. The attraction promises to be a most impressive production with spooky characters appearing along the trail in an unexpected fashion.
Younger attendees will enjoy the Childrens Candy Carnival on the Enchanted Trail.
Enjoy a performance by AWOL Dance Collective, an open campfire, crafts and concessions.
Attendees are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance online at westlinnoregon.gov. Tickets are $4 for Enchanted Trail, $5 at the gate; Trail of Terror tickets are $8 in advance or $10 at the gate. Admission to the Enchanted Trail is free for children three and younger.
Advance tickets can be purchased until noon of the day of the event.

The Moms Club of West Linn will present its 10th annual Spooky Stroll from 3 to 5 p.m. Oct. 26 at Tanner Creek Park in West Linn. Costumed children, parents and leashed pets are invited to march in a Halloween parade, check out a TVF&R fire truck, participate in Halloween crafts, music, refreshments and treats for all ages.
This is a free event, however attendees are encouraged to bring two nonperishable food items for the West Linn Food Pantry.
The Milwaukie Elks Lodge #2032 is presenting its Fear Asylum, a unique haunted attraction at 13121 S.E. McLoughlin Blvd. in Milwaukie. In addition to the frightful full scare version, they offer a childrens haunt and fun house in the annex building behind the main lodge with games, crafts to make masks, trick or treat bags and more.
Fear Asylum is open from 7 to 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays through Nov. 1 and 7 to 10 p.m. Oct. 26 and 30. Tickets can be purchased online at fearasylumhauntedattraction.com.
