Party and duplicate bridge players are invited to play in a benefit bridge tournament and luncheon to be held from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 27 at the Lakewood Center for the Arts, 368 S. State St. in Lake Oswego. The event is organized by volunteers from the Lake Oswego Adult Community Center as a benefit for Project POOCH and Lakewood Center for the Arts.

“We are thrilled to have two such deserving charities for this year’s event,” organizer Jeanne Fox said. “Project POOCH, a Lake Oswego nonprofit, provides opportunities for youth in corrections to develop the personal and vocational skills needed to become responsible members of our community. After completing a rigorous training program with the incarcerated young people, shelter dogs are available for adoption.

“The Lakewood Center for the Arts nurtures a love of theater and the arts for all ages by providing classes, art exhibits, theater productions and dance.”

Entry fee is $25 per person and includes lunch and cash prizes for the high scorers in both the party and non-sanctioned duplicate bridge.

The event is organized by volunteer bridge coordinators from the Lake Oswego Adult Community Center, where bridge games are open three days a week. To register or get more information about the tournament or weekly play call Jeanette Roberts at 503-975-5655 for Monday non-sanctioned duplicate bridge; Sharon Paz at 503-577-5490 for Tuesday party bridge or Jeanne Fox at 503-423-7934 for Thursday party bridge.
