by: PEGGY SAVAGE - Ronnie Granderson, of Molalla, (in ski hat) checks out his vehicle with Molalla Police Officer Aaron Christopherson and a tow truck driver 20 minutes after the crash. The driver walked away uninjured Friday morning after landing his vehicle upside down in a ditch along Union Mills Road.

Ronnie Granderson, of Molalla, said he was driving to work, heading north on Union Mills Road, when he lost control of his vehicle, a Scion tC, on a mild curve.

The car skidded about 50 feet across the oncoming lane and flipped over, landing in a ditch near Dalmatian Road, a quarter mile from Union Mills Store at about 11:15 a.m. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

Granderson was alone in the vehicle. He said he is familiar with the road, which he drives every day to work. He said the car was traveling about 45 to 55 miles per hour. Road conditions were dry.

“I was wearing my seat belt,” he said, looking down at the car upended in the ditch. “It sure would have been a different story if I hadn't been wearing it.”

Molalla Fire District was called to the scene. Molalla Police directed traffic following the crash.
