The church has booked the Christian speaker and retired American NBA basketball star as the keynote speaker for the “Turning Up the Heat” youth outreach event on May 3 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Green, who is known as the Ironman, has played in more consecutive games than anyone in the history of the NBA, and played through many aches and pains over the course of his 16-year career that included three championship teams with the Los Angeles Lakers. He is well known for his strong Christian beliefs.

“We want teens in our community at large to get together and have fun but hear a dynamic culturally relevant message from Mr. Green.

Besides a powerful and encouraging message by A. C. Green, teenagers will have a blast playing games such as laser tag, live hamster ball, scavenger hunt, 3-on-3 basketball, flag football, soccer, and so much more,” said Melinda West, director of ‘Audience of One’ Youth Ministry. “This is our first major outreach event to the youth in our community at large. It will definitely be one of the largest teen outreach events in Molalla,” she added.

Registration is required.

Attendees need to call 971-570-7904 or pick up a registration form in the Nazarene Church office at 920 S. Shirley Street in Molalla. The cost is $15 per person. Lunch and a snack will be provided. In addition, there will be a number of concession stands.
