A former Molalla doctor says he has found a way to provide better, more affordable care to his patients at his new practice in Silverton.
Dr. Rob Rosborough, of Marquam, practiced medicine at Family Medical Group in Molalla for two decades before moving to his current practice, Township Health DPC (Direct Primary Care) in Silverton, which he said has allowed him to spend more time with his patients and provide superior, cost-effective care.
He's able to do so by "taking back the control of healthcare costs from insurance companies." Patients at Township Health no longer go through insurance companies to pay their premiums, but instead through the practice directly with a membership service that resembles a food co-op.
Patients pay a monthly membership and have access to Rosborough and all of the services he offers.
But the savings aren't seen from the patients alone. Rosborough said cutting out insurance companies allows his practice to eliminate administrative burdens and costs and pass those savings right back to his patients.
Despite working in Silverton now, Rosborough said he enjoyed the mellow environment of Molalla.
"The best thing about the patients in Molalla was their down home attitudes," he said. "I just enjoyed the very normal people."
Rosborough said most of his patients in Molalla have already followed him since he began practicing in Silverton in April.
Township health DPC is located at 113 South Water Street in downtown Silverton.
