Notes on the Nov. 4 Planning Commission Meeting
Quite a few Mulino citizens are trying to keep an eye on whats going on at the county planning commission regarding the Transportation System Plan known as Graves Rd/Passmore Rd/Mulino Rd/OR 213.
For those who dont have access to the documents, heres something that might prove interesting.
The project description created for the intersection by the TSP Public Advisory Committee and recommended to the Clackamas County Planning Commission was as
Realign to create four-way intersection of Mulino Road/Graves Road/ OR 213; install traffic signal; disconnect Passmore Road east of OR 213 (at school) and create cul-de-sac on western portion of roadway segment.
The planning commission voted 8-0-0 to change the project description to:
Work in conjunction with Molalla River School District, ODOT and community stakeholders to develop a solution to the safety concerns of the schoolchildren using Passmore Road, and looking at all operational options available.
The planning commission voted 7-0-1 to keep the project in Tier 1 of the Transportation System Plan.
James Perrault was the planning commissioner who did not vote. He suggested moving the project to the lower-priority Tier 2, explaining there was a significant amount of public testimony against it being in Tier 1.
Commissioner Hank Doane said the change in project description should address the concerns raised by the public.
I think we have a moral obligation to make sure it (the intersection) gets addressed, said Commissioner Brian Pasko.
Commissioner Michael Wagner, a Mulino resident, argued against changing the project description, but ultimately voted with fellow commissioners to make the change in wording.
