Mulino Hamlet donates $1,000 for new fire tender

Lorna Wilson volunteered to help with the Chamber of Commerce fundraiser in Molalla, and part of that money went to the Molalla Fire Department to help buy its much-needed new fire tender.

“Then when I went to the Mulino Hamlet meeting, they said we should do something for community. And we decided to donate $1,000 to the fire department,” Wilson said. “So many of these firefighters are volunteers. So many farmers don’t have protection without a tender at the fire station. If we can keep moving with this as a community, we could raise enough money to buy one. A tender will cost $250,000, so this is important.”

Tuesday, Wilson will meet with Fire Chief Vince Stafford to present him with a check for $1,000.

Mulino Hamlet meetings

The Mulino Hamlet will meet Thursday, Nov. 21, at the Oregon Pilots Association Club House, located at the Mulino Airport just off of S. Mulino Road. The meeting begins at 7:15 p.m. and should probably wrap up around 9 p.m.

At the last meeting when the recall vote for former chairman Michael Wagner went through, board member Doug Hill agreed to fill in as interim chairman, until the next election.

Topics at the monthly meetings cover land use and zoning, transportation, and many other issues of importance to the people living and working in the hamlet area.
