Colton Corner March 26
A new Pastor
Canyon Creek Bible Church has announced Chuck Whitley as their interim pastor.
If the name sounds familiar he is from Colton, graduating from CHS in 1990. He is the son of Jim and Carol Whitley. He graduated from Multnomah Bible College in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in Biblical studies and went on to Fuller Theological Seminary, attending a branch campus in Seattle where he earned a Master of Art in theology. Whitley did post graduate studies in transformational leadership at Bakke Graduate University.
Whitley pastored in churches in Milwaukie, Ore., Seattle and San Diego and has worked for the Juvenile Court of Snohomish County in Washington with low risk juvenile offenders.
He had the highest juvenile graduation completion rate from the program.
The program keeps kids off the street and out of jail, Whitley said.
Chuck met his wife, Karen, while they were attending Multnomah Bible College. They have been married for 15 years and have two children, nine-year-old Trinity, and six-year-old Jimmy. The family currently lives outside of Canby in the Whiskey Hill area.
About coming back to Colton and Canyon Creek Bible Fellowship, Whitley said he is looking to foster stability and understanding and to make scripture relevant.
I want to help raise up the next generations of leaders who contribute in church, in community, in school, in society and at work; to see Gods potential come through peoples lives, he said.
Canyon Creek is located at 21302 South Highway 211, services begin at 11 a.m. and Sunday school at 9:30 a.m.
Easter Egg Hunt needs you and, well, candy

They could use your help with donations of cash, prizes and things to put in the plastic eggs.
There is a basket at the elementary school, 30437 S. Grays Hill Road, where these can be dropped off.
