Watkins takes three firsts
Molalla's girls swim team finish second, boys third in Canby.
While Molalla took plenty of individual first-place finishes on Monday, Dec. 9, at the Canby Aquatic Center, as a team the girls finished second and the boys third.
Senior Kayla Watkins posted up three first-place finishes. She took the 50 Free in a time of 29.67, the 100 Free in a time of 1:06.47, and was the anchor in the Girls 200 Free Relay at 2:05.55. The other relay members were Suzy Botsford, Megan Penni and Kirstin Glenn.
Penni, also a senior, placed second in the 200 Free with a time of 2:40, and second in the 100 Free, finishing with a time of 1:10.84.
Sophomore Stuart Moore also did well. He won the 500 Free in a time of 5:58.65, which is close to his personal best from last season. Moore also placed third in the 200 Individual Medley with a time of 2:28.43.
Canbys boys and girls team both placed first. North Marions boys finished second and their girls landed in third.
