The 31st annual Goat Mountain Gallop half marathon will be held on Saturday, April 12. The run/walk follows back roads from Colton to Molalla.
Its very hilly, with a slight elevation drop from Colton to Molalla, said Sheron Farner, who is organizing the event this year.
The course description says the roads are paved or lightly traveled country roads through the foothills of Goat Mountain. Its hilly, by golly.
There will be water stations set up along the way, and Uberthons is tracking the race timing. The race results will be available online within a minute of crossing the finish line.
About 130 to 170 runners and walkers are expected to come out. The runners will be broken into divisions according to age and gender. Early registration is open online at www.uberthons.com/goatmountain. Day of registration will be at Molalla High School, beginning at 6:30 a.m.
Pre-registration costs $35 or $45 with a shirt included. Registration after April 5 costs $40 or $50 with a shirt included.
Busses will take walkers from Molalla High School to the starting line at 7:15 a.m. The runners bus will leave at 8:15. Walkers start at 8 a.m. and runners at 9 a.m.
The proceeds of the race will go to Molalla High Schools cross country and track and field teams.
