City extends hours for bill payments

In response to input from the public, the city of Madras will extend hours to receive bill payments on two days in August, September and October.

On Aug. 6 and 7, Sept. 9 and 10, and Oct. 9 and 10, the Madras City Hall will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., including during the noon lunch hour.

In the spring, city staff invited the Madras community to participate in a customer satisfaction survey in an effort to identify areas where the city can better serve the community. Several survey participants requested extended hours for taking utility payments.

"The City Hall utility billing team is pleased to provide extended, more accommodating hours to meet the needs of its customers," noted Brandie McNamee, finance director for the city.

Utility payments may also be mailed, physically dropped in the black dropbox in south parking lot of City Hall, or they can submit payments online at Payments can also be made via credit card over the phone by calling 541-475-2344.

For those who wish to participate in the city’s customer satisfaction survey, it is available on the city’s website at
