The North Unit Irrigation District's Board of Directors, at its July 11, board meeting, approved an increase of 0.50 acre-foot for both Deschutes and Crooked River water rights, based on current water supply and availability forecasts.
The allotted amount for Deschutes water rights is now 3.00 acre-feet per acre and 2.00 acre-feet per acre for Crooked River water rights.
The district will continue to monitor water supply and availability conditions throughout the season to determine whether additional water supply adjustments are warranted. The allotment increase would be excess water if used.
As a reminder to water users, the minimum amount of water allowed before excess is charged is always 2.00 acre-feet per acre on Deschutes water rights and 1.00 acre-foot per acre on the Crooked River water right acres.
