Kevin and Tami EidemillerA benefit event for Tami and Kevin Eidemiller, with food and live music by the Triur Amadan Band, will be held from 4:30-7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 18, in the Erickson’s Thriftway parking lot.

Proceeds from the event will go to assist with medical expenses for Tami Eidemiller’s cancer treatments.

There will be a drawing with many wonderful prizes. Tickets are $5 each, or six for $20. Tickets can be purchased at Central Oregon Insurance and Mail, Copies and More. Prizes include a Traeger grill, one ton of hay, half a cut and wrapped pig, and much more.

Tami Eidemiller was diagnosed with melanoma cancer in 2009, and after a successful surgery, the cancer was gone.

However, in 2011, she had a PET scan which revealed that once again cancer had invaded her body; this time it was confined to her neck and lymph nodes. In 2013, another PET scan showed cancer in a spot on her heart, and near her rib cage.

She is now involved in a case study which requires extensive treatments of radiation and infusions of the IL2 drug being studied. The routine requires her to stay in Portland for one week, go home for two weeks, then return to the hospital in Portland again. This process may have to be repeated for the next four months.

“As you can imagine, the costs are beyond astronomical. Your prayers, love and most of all, your support is so appreciated in the effort to help the tremendous costs faced by Tami and Kevin Eidemiller,” said Connie Thornton, one of the benefit organizers
