Two of the many handcarved masks hung on the walls of the library through the second week of November.Scores of wooden masks, handcarved by Madras artist Jim Miller, are on display at the Jefferson County Library through the second week of November.

Inspired in 2008 by an exhibit of Alutiiq artifacts from Kodiak Island, Alaska, Miller has been carving masks ever since.

He explores domestic and exotic woods, as well as painting and enlacing, to create unique masks in the tradition of the Alutiiq Alaska Native culture.
