Retirement party honors Marvels

Habitat volunteers


Jefferson County Habitat for Humanity is holding a retirement party to honor longtime volunteers and officers Sharon and Fritz Marvel.

The party will be at 5 p.m., Sunday, June 29, at Desert Peaks golf Club, 565 N.W. Adler St., Madras. For more information, call 541-460-0159.

At the June 9 meeting, the Habitat board of directors elected officers for the fiscal year, which begins July 1.

Mona Hardman was elected president; Dennis Hardman, vice president; Patty Lieuallen, secretary; and Dorothy Burgess was re-elected treasurer.

The board also voted to hire Thomas Carroll as the public relations coordinator. His work will include working with churches, nonprofit, and civic organizations to expand awareness of Habitat’s affordable housing mission in the community, and to increase board and committee participation and leadership.
