Dundee students collects for two causes

Students at Dundee Elementary School are participating in a pair of collections this week. Classrooms are gathering items for an “adopt a soldier” program. Suggested items include jerky, candy, trail mix and gift cards for Starbucks, McDonalds, Pizza Hut or Subway. Students are also participating in the Rotary Kids Helping Kids coin drive. Items for soldiers or change for the drive can be dropped off at the school office. For more information, call 503-554-4850.

MVMS Burgerville fundraiser set for Thursday

The Newberg Burgerville store will host a benefit for Mountain Valley Middle School from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Ten percent of sales during that period will be donated to the school.

Performance date omitted

Two performance dates for the Newberg High School production of “Guys and Dolls” were omitted from a story in the Nov. 6 edition of The Newberg Graphic. The next performance is at 7 p.m. Thursday, which is also Senior and Veterans Night, where admission for those groups will be $1. The final two performances will be at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Special education seminar Monday

In collaboration with the Newberg Special Education Advisory Council, the advocacy group Family and Community Together (FACT) will host a host a workshop from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Nov. 18 at the Newberg School District office. The workshop is titled: “Understanding the IEP: Development, Process and Your Critically Important Role on the Team,” and will cover individual education plans.
