County job fair planned in Newberg
The Chehalem Valley and McMinnville chambers of commerce will hold a Yamhill County Job Fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 19 at the Chehalem Cultural Center, 415 Sheridan St. At the fair, numerous employers ranging from A-dec Inc. and Spirit Mountain Gaming to Head Start of Yamhill County and the city of Newberg, will look to recruit from the pool of 300 job seekers expected to attend the event. In addition, the event will feature a workshop with Mac Prichard, founder of the job-posting website Mac's List. Local named as executive in state trucking group
The Oregon Trucking Associations has named Newberg resident Joe Darby as the organization's new director of safety and compliance, according to a recent press release. In his new role, Darby will work with trucking fleets throughout the state to develop training and other measures to ensure safety in the industry. He has previously served in similar roles with Market Express, Market Transport and Marsh USA.
