According to a release from the university, Drew will be a key leader in the school's new Innovation and Empowerment Division, which aligns employee empowerment (formerly human resources), information technology, data analytics, strategic planning and innovation. She will especially focusing on developing talent and hiring, the release said, as well overseeing the primary human resources functions of the university.

Her last post was with Enterprise Holdings Inc., a company that concentrated on compliance training on topics ranging from privacy and security, to ethics and diversity. She also mentored employees and served as a classroom facilitator.

"Nichole brings the energy and experience to lead this new department," said Rob Westervelt, vice president for innovation and empowerment. "This department is going to play a new role as a strategic business partner within the university and Nichole's corporate background in talent development will be extremely helpful to us in this effort."

Drew earned a bachelor's degree in communication studies from Portland State University in 2003 and was a four-year student-athlete at the university, earning a scholarship in softball and serving as a team captain.

"I am excited to work at George Fox for a couple of reasons," Drew said. "First, George Fox has a strong mission, vision and values, and it excites me to work for an organization that knows what they stand for and lives it every day. As a Newberg resident, I have had the pleasure of interacting with George Fox students in a variety of ways, and I've always been impressed.

"Secondly, I absolutely loved my college experience and the thought of being back on campus and involved in that precious time of a young person's life is extremely exciting to me. I will be 100 percent behind the university's mission of being the very best Christian college and helping graduates achieve better life outcomes."
