CPRD hosting dog training sessions
Training your pooch Both obedience and agility classes scheduled to begin in November
The Chehalem Park and Recreation District is offering two opportunities for dog training.
The first is obedience training and involves teaching the dog to sit, stay, come and heel as well as leave it and how to have the dog wait at the door.
Obedience training focuses on positive reinforcement using a clicker and treats. The class also promises insight to dogs body language and social skills.
The second training opportunity is in dog agility. The course covers jump standards, hoop jumps, tunnels and weave poles. Dogs must have basic obedience skills sit, stay and come to participate.
Obedience training begins at 7 p.m. Nov. 7 and continues each Thursday until Dec. 5. Fees are $57 and $67, the former for early registration.
Agility training begins 7 p.m. Nov. 6 and continues each Wednesday until Nov. 27. Fees are $57 for early registration, $67 on the day of the class.
