City Council slates meeting with planning commission
The Dundee City Council and planning commission will hold a joint workshop on commercial zones at 7 p.m. Thursday at Dundee City Hall. The location of the meeting is accessible to the disabled. Pet Pictures with Santa
Dont miss out on the opportunity to have pictures of your pet with Santa. For a $10 donation, you will receive a CD of the session by photographer Cindy Rose. Donations benefit the Newberg Animal Shelter. Refreshments and door prizes will be available. The event will be hosted by the Newberg Veterinary Hospital from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at 3716 E. Portland Road.
City of Dundee planning commission has vacancies
The city of Dundee is accepting applications for those interested in serving on the planning commission. There are three positions, with a four-year term expiring in December 2017. Applicants must have at least one year of residency in Dundee prior to the appointment, except one member on the planning commission may be a non-resident owner of real property in Dundee for at least one year prior to the appointment. The deadline to submit applications is 5 p.m. Dec. 30. Those interested in serving can download an application from the Citys website, www.dundeecity.org, by stopping by City Hall or call 503-538-3922 and ask to have one mailed to you.
CPRD slates Parents Night Out and Kids Night of Fun
Every parent wants a night out, a night in, a night to Christmas shop, or simply a night without kids. From 5:30 to 10 p.m. Friday at the Chehalem Armory Center, children age 3 to 11 can choose their own combination of fun throughout the night. Gymnastics activities led by gymnastics instructors, crafts, movies and games will be provided and dinner and snacks will be served.
Registration in advance is required. For those registering before Dec. 8, the in-district is $29, $35 living outside the district. After Dec. 8, the fee will be $39 or $45. Proceeds from the event will go toward the purchase of new gymnastics equipment for the CPRD. Third annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration set
From 5 to 6:30 p.m. Jan. 20, a Martin Luther King Jr. celebration will occur at the Newberg High School auditorium. The program will feature singer Kate McLearn, the George Fox University Gospel choir, the Veritas School concert choir and choirs from Mabel Rush and Antonia Crater elementary schools. The speaker is Rotary Peace Scholar Steven Nakana.

The city of Newberg has introduced an easier option to finding holiday lights in town. Click on the Holiday Light Display icon and then move the cursor to the address you want on the map. Click on your location, and in the dialogue box add the address, and an optional short description and photo.

CRRC will meet this evening
The Citizens Rate Review Committee will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. Dec. 11 at the Public Safety Meeting, 401 E. Third St. The committee meets several times throughout the fall and winter months to set water, wastewater and stormwater rates for the next two years.
