Ruth was born in Lingle, Wyoming to Edward and Mabel Smith. Ruth and her family moved to Beaverton, Oregon when she was in the eighth grade. After graduating from Beaverton High School, Ruth worked as a bookkeeper for the McCall Oil Company.

The family would like to express their thanks to Comfort Keepers and the Kaiser Hospice Program because they along with family were able to keep our commitment and honor our mother’s wish to remain in her home.

A private graveside service will be held at Crescent Grove Cemetery in Tigard at a later date.
