William "Bill" Gabel
April 30, 1957 to December 22, 2013 -
Loving husband, father, grandfather, companion and friend, Bill is survived by his wife of over 32 years, Virginia and their children, Dustin, Ryan and Chelsea, daughter-in-law, Robin, granddaughter, Rowyn, and many friends.
Bill was born in Portland, Oregon on April 30, 1957 to Rollie and Dorothy Gabel. He graduated from Beaverton High School and then went to The University of Oregon.
He loved life and all who were part of his life, and was most happy spending time with friends and family, vacationing or fishing. He and his loving wife, Virginia, enjoyed countless happy years together filled with love and laughter, raising a tight knit family in Tigard.
An avid outdoorsman and passionate fisherman, Bill enjoyed many trips with his sons and closest friends in Alaska, Diamond Lake and on the Columbia River.
By sharing the things that he loved, Bill took care of the people he loved. He was a true master at the barbecue, spending hours perfecting the perfect rub or sauce and slow cooking on his Traeger.
Bill worked nearly 20 years at Interstate Roofing. He excelled in everything he put his mind to, including his work in sales.
There will be a public Celebration of Life held from 1:30 to 4:00 on Monday, January 6, 2014, at Countryside Community Church (18810 SW Kruger, Sherwood). The family asks that in lieu of flowers, friends consider a donation to the Oregon and SW Washington Chapter of The ALS Association.
