Richard D. HoltRichard Dennis Holt, 71, of West Linn died in Lincoln City.

He was born in Aberdeen, Wash., to Harry and Ruby (Smith) Holt. His brother, Roger, and parents preceded him in death.

Richard grew up in Eureka, Calif. He graduated from Eureka High School and served for the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany. He went on to graduate and receive his bachelor’s degree and master’s in business administration from Humboldt State University where he played football and was inducted into the HSU Hall of Fame in 2000.

He spent the greater part of his career working in the wood products industry for Georgia Pacific and Louisiana Pacific in Eureka and then for Champion International in Lebanon. He retired in 1993 from Simpson Oregon Overlays Division in Portland. After retirement he decided to delve into real estate and joined John L. Scott in Oregon City.

He is survived by his wife, Grace Ann; and daughters Maureen Seifert-Holt of Lebanon, and Michelle and Scott Johnson of West Linn. He had five grandchildren, McKenzy and Lauren Seifert, and Mathew, Sarah and Samuel Johnson.

A celebration of life is planned at the Oregon City Elks Lodge at 2pm, Tuesday, January 28th.
