April (Eichner) Palm

East County resident April (Eichner) Palm died Tuesday, Aug. 20, from cervical cancer. She was 38.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, at Pleasant Home United Methodist Church in Gresham.

April was born April 10, 1975, to Rhonda and Larry Eichner.

She is survived by her parents; son, Bryan Bacon; half-brother, Adam Palm; stepsisters, Jolene Galvin, Shelly Northrup and Tina Dibbern; stepbrothers, J.R. Griener and Deric Northrup; and other extended relatives and friends

Shannon Ilene Ramsay

Dec. 31, 1975-July 21, 2013

Estacada resident Shannon Ilene Ramsay died Sunday, July 21, from pulmonary embolism. She was 38.

A memorial was held Saturday, Sept. 7, in the Community Room at Estacada Community Center.

Shannon was born Dec. 31, 1975, in Estacada, to Jan and Clarence (Cork) Ramsay.

She married Russ Herdener and lived with him in Vancouver the last ten years.

Shannon worked many years as a dental assistant for Ernest Ng and loved gardening and painting. She was unconditionally kind, generous and thoughtful.

Shannon was preceded by her parents, whom she lovingly cared for through long illnesses. Survivors include her husband; and three brothers, Chuck, Carey and Keith Ramsay.

Estacada Funeral Chapel is handling arrangements.

Rowena “Lynn” Wood

Aug. 21, 1951-Sept. 7, 2013

Estacada resident Rowena “Lynn” Wood died Saturday, Sept. 7. She was 62.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, at Willamette National Cemetery.

Lynn was born Aug. 21, 1951, in Denver, to John and Haroldene Foreman. The family moved to Estacada when she was 11.

After high school, Lynn joined the U.S. Air Force. She was honorably discharged for medical reasons and moved back to Estacada, where she became an EMT for Estacada Fire District.

On May 2, 1979, Lynn married John Wood. Lynn received her master’s degree and taught kindergarten in the Estacada School District for more than 15 years. She retired five years ago.

Survivors include her sisters, Peggy Kyser and Laureen Moore; stepsons, Eric Wood and Jay Wood; stepdaughters, Sally Wood and Pam Wagner; and six grandchildren.
