Corrinne Clare Yohn

Estacada resident Corrinne Clare Yohn died Friday, Sept. 6, at a Portland hospital. She was 87.

A graveside service was held Friday, Sept. 13, at Montecito Memorial Park in California.

Corrinne was born Dec. 2, 1925, in Portland to Elmer and Mildred Wheeler. She was raised there and graduated from Girls Poly Tech School in Portland.

She attended Multnomah Bible College for a year before marrying James Yohn on Dec. 16, 1946. They were married 52 years when he died in 1998.

Corrinne had a great love for playing the violin. After the death of her daughter, Deborah Noel Hodson, in 2008, Corrinne moved to Estacada to be near family.

Survivors include her sons, James L. Yohn II of Reedsville, S.C., and Stephen Yohn of Reno, Nev.; daughter, Mary Kauffman of Estacada; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Mary Louise Koppi

Dec. 30, 1918-Sept. 11, 2013

Former Estacada resident Mary Koppi died Wednesday, Sept. 11, in Vancouver, Wash. She was 94.

A memorial Mass was celebrated Tuesday, Sept. 17, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Estacada.

Mary was born Dec. 30, 1918, in Gladstone, N.D., to Earl and Mable Neal. She graduated from high school in 1937 and went on to Dickinson State College.

Mary married Mike Koppi on Nov. 28, 1938, in Dickinson. They moved to Estacada in 1976.

Mary taught at Timber Lake Job Corps for 12 years, retiring in the late 1970s. She was an artist and member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church.

Her husband preceded her in death in 2000. She is survived by her son, Rob Koppi; daughters, Judy Spencer and Lorraine Hawley; sister, Minnie Gates; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Dorothy Ellen (Douglas) Guttridge,

Dorothy Ellen (Douglas) Guttridge, 96, of Tualatin, Oregon, died August 30, 2013. She was born August 8th, 1917 in Molalla, Oregon to Pleasant Ward and Effie (Grace) Douglas. She was raised in Eagle Creek, Oregon and graduated from Estacada High School. She married Ronald Raney Guttridge August 25th, 1938 in Vancouver, Washington.

She is survived by two children, Carole Graves of Forest Grove, Ronald Guttridge and wife Kathy of Wilsonville. She has five grandchildren, Melani Searls & husband Mark; Amy Cates & husband Curtis; Brandt Guttridge & wife Nicole; and Ryan Guttridge & wife Gretchen. She has eight great-grandchildren, Emily and Kayla Searls, Jarrett and Katelynn Howard, Corinne Cates, Katie and Ben Guttridge, and Caden Guttridge.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Raney Guttridge, in 2005, and her brothers, Raymond A. Douglas, in 1988, Clifford W. Douglas in 2000, Donald S. Douglas in 1999, and her grandson Sean Patrick Graves in 2011.

Dorothy worked as a head cook for many years at David Douglas High School and retired in 1980. When Dorothy retired she enjoyed traveling with her husband, her sister-in-law Lucille (Guttridge) & husband Paul Clark. She attended Lynch Baptist Church. She also enjoyed gardening, her animals, oil painting, reading, watching the Blazers, and spending time with her family.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a great friend to all! She will be missed dearly, but will forever be in our hearts!

Julie Elaine Bieler (Hinkle)

May 12, 1953 - August 19, 2013

Julie Elaine Bieler (Hinkle), a resident of Eagle Creek, Oregon, died on August 19, 2013 in Eagle Creek. She was 60 years of age. Julie was born on May 12, 1953 in Long Beach, California. She grew up in Garden Grove, California and at age 14 she moved with her parents, sister and two brothers to Estacada, Oregon. She attended Estacada High School and graduated from Gresham in 1971. She later earned her Degree in Court Reporting.

On May 25, 1985, she married Donald Bieler in Redland, Oregon. They made their home in Eagle Creek where Julie worked with her sister, Kym in interior home design. She was also very talented and very crafty. Julie excelled in numerous crafts including, knitting, crocheting, sewing, needle point, cross stitch and pottery. She also designed beautiful scrapbooks and loved to make new baby gifts for family and friends. Julie was a breast cancer survivor who was strong, patient and loved to make others happy. She was generous with her talents and her time. She donated handmade hats and scarves to the homeless and always found the time to cherish those close to her. She was unique with her style and fun to be around. She loved color, her bangle bracelets and having her hair and nails done. She was a wonderful wife, mom, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister and friend. She imprinted the hearts of those around her and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband, Donald of Eagle Creek, daughter, Ereka Anderson of Milwaukie, son, Patrick (wife, Nina) Davis of Eagle Creek, brothers, Larry Gabriel of Milwaukie and Randy Hinkle of Portland and sister, Kym O’Neill of Redland along with 5 grandchildren: Jared, Kayla, Ashley, Ariel and Damien.

A celebration of Julie’s Life will be on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 11:00 am at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home in Gresham, OR. As a special tribute to Julie, the family requests that you kindly wear purple to her service as purple was one of Julie’s favorite colors. A Visitation will be on Friday from 10:00 am - 5:00 pm also at Bateman Carroll. She will be laid to rest at Willamette National Cemetery. Contributions may be made in memory of Julie to the Susan G.
