Arnold Kurtz, 74, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 in Hillsboro, OR.
A remembrance open house is scheduled from 1pm-4pm on Saturday, April 5th at The River House at Rood Bridge Park in Hillsboro.
Arnold was born on March 24,1940 in Havre, MT to Reuben and Lola Kurtz. He graduated from Parkrose High School in 1958.
Arnold married Rosemary Nelson on August 25, 1961 and enlisted in the US Army and served for three years. In 1972, they moved to Gales Creek, OR and in 1995 eventually settled in their current home in Hillsboro.
Arnold was a ship rigger/boiler maker and had worked for NW Marine and Iron Works for 30 years. Arnold was a wonderful neighbor, caring friend and loving family member. His time was spent crafting beautiful cribbage boards, helping others and truly enjoying his time in the stands watching his grandchildren play sports.
Survivors include his wife; Rosemary, three children; Daniel Kurtz of Hillsboro, Steven Kurtz of Hillsboro, Patty Graser of Indonesia, four siblings; His twin brother Arthur Kurtz,Wilma McOmie, Helen Livengood, Bill Kurtz and four grandchildren; Taylor, Tallack, Keaton and Lauren and many nieces and nephews and extended family members.
The family suggests donations in Arnolds name to: The University of Oregon Club Baseball Team and The American Cancer Society, Hillsboro Relay for Life Team
