Terry Lee O'Rear
June 23, 1952-April 23, 2014
Terry ORear was born on June 23, 1952 in Hillsboro, Oregon, the son of Norris Truman and Marjorie H. (Cedargreen) ORear. He was raised in the Cornelius community and attended Cornelius Primary School and Forest Grove High School, having been a graduate of the Class of 1970.
He was a Veteran of the Vietnam Era, having joined the United States Army on January 7, 1971 in Fort Lewis, Washington. He served for 3 years as a Helicopter Pilot, until receiving his Honorable Discharge in 1974 at Fort Lewis, Washington at the rank of Warrant Officer.
Terry was united in marriage to Karol K. Strandberg on February 19, 1972 in Forest Grove, Oregon. Following their marriage he served in the U.S. Army having been stationed at Fort Rucker, Alabama and Fort Lewis, Washington. Following his discharge they moved to the Forest Grove community, Hillsboro, Oregon and Anchorage, Alaska. They later divorced.
In December of 1988, he moved to Vancouver, Washington, where he had made his home for the past twenty-five years.
He had worked as a Shop Foreman for Electro, Inc., a manufacturer of logging and mining equipment in Vancouver, Washington. Terry worked for Electro, Inc. for many years, until he had to retire due to ill health.
Terry was a member of the Columbia Drag Boat Association.
Among his special interests, he enjoyed caring for his roses, salmon fishing and drag boat racing.
Terry is preceded in death by his father, Norris Truman ORear and his sister-in-law, Nancy ORear.
Survivors include his two children and their spouses, Christopher Chris and Becca ORear, of Vancouver, Washington and Melissa and Ryan Tofell, of Washougal, Washington; his mother, Marjorie H. Marge ORear, of Dilley, Oregon; his brother, Michael A. Mike ORear, of Dilley, Oregon; his two sisters and brother-in-law, Judy A. Roberts, of Dilley, Oregon and Susan L. Susie and John Marshall, of Dilley, Oregon; his partner, Eileen Baker, of Vancouver, Washington and his former wife, Karol K. ORear, of Vancouver, Washington and his adopted son, Paul Neilson and his family, of Mulino, Oregon.
Also surviving are his seven grandchildren, Cohen Michael ORear; Aidan Nicholas Bristol; Austin Ryan Tofell; Lauren McKenzie Tofell; Nathan Aaron Tofell and twins, Harper Grace ORear and Reese Allen ORear, who are due July 4, 2014 and thirteen nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, May 2, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at the Fuiten, Rose & Hoyt Funeral Home,
2308 Pacific Avenue in Forest Grove with Pastor Darren Osburn, of the Rivers of Peace Church in Hillsboro, officiating. Concluding Rites and Interment with Full Military Honors will follow at Forest View Cemetery, 1161 W. Pacific Avenue in Forest Grove.
Family and friends are invited to attend a reception at 2pm. to be held at Prime Time Restaurant, 4450 SW Pacific Ave. in Forest Grove.
