Carmen Signori

Troutdale resident Carmen Signori died Wednesday, Oct. 9. She was 87.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday Oct. 12, at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home.

Carmen was born Dec. 19, 1925, in Cordoba, Argentina, to Benito and Francisca Roldan.

Carmen was preceded in death by her husband, Elvino. She is survived by her children, Maria Kilborn, Adriana Carpenter and George Signori; sister, Elvira Roldan; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Joseph Randall Ransly Stone

July 17, 1988-Oct. 5, 2013

East County resident Joseph Randall Ransly Stone died Saturday, Oct. 5. He was 25.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 11, at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home. A committal will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Joe was born July 17, 1988, in Portland to Randall and Kim (Kidd) Stone. He grew up in the Portland-Gresham area, attending Centennial High School.

During high school, Joe worked as an intern for the local sports radio station, The Fan.

He recently enrolled at Mt. Hood Community College to study history. Joe loved animals, especially his dogs, and spending time with his nephews and friends.

A sports fanatic, Joe also enjoyed music, cooking and playing X-Box. He was known as a big-hearted, witty person with spunk and character.

He is survived by his parents; sisters, Megan and Kelsey Stone; grandparents, Harold and Terry Kidd and Gary and Marie Hanson; two nephews; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Ruth Schwartz

May 19, 1927-Oct. 9, 2013

Gresham resident Ruth Schwartz died Wednesday, Oct. 9. She was 86.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, at Trinity Lutheran Church of Gresham, 507 W. Powell Blvd., Gresham.

Ruth was born May 19, 1927, in Turtle Lake, N.D., to Fred and Caroline Vogele.

She attended Wellington High School and worked as a homemaker.

Ruth married Raymond A. Schwartz on Aug. 2, 1946. The couple moved to Gresham in 1968.

Ruth belonged to Trinity Lutheran Church and volunteered for the soup kitchen.

She was preceded in death by her husband. She is survived by her sons, Craig, Bradley, Steve and Robert Schwartz.

Donald Joseph Rose

April 16, 1922-Oct. 5, 2013

Gresham resident Donald Joseph Rose died Saturday, Oct. 5. He was 91.

Interment was held Thursday, Oct. 10, at Willamette National Cemetery.

Donald was born April 16, 1922, in Klamath Falls to Joseph A. Rose and Marie Schmeiser Rose.

Donald attended Klamath Falls Union High School. He received his bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Southern Oregon College of Education and his master’s degree in education from the University of Oregon.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, earning five medals.

Donald worked as an educator until he retired in 1980. He married Myrel Rose Garretson on Aug. 24, 1946, in Reno, Nev.

Donald belonged to the Oregon Education Association. He enjoyed tutoring math students, fishing, hunting, boating and snowmobiling.

He was preceded in death by his wife. He is survived by his son, Dave Williams; daughters, Donna Ostrin, Norma Rose and Marla Ireland; brothers, Norman and Delmar Rose; sister, Marlene Griffith; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Cornerstone Funeral Services and Cremation is handling arrangements.

Christopher Aaron Isac Dailey

Aug. 20, 1974-Sept. 24, 2013

Boring resident Christopher Aaron Isac Dailey died Tuesday, Sept. 24. He was 39.

A celebration of life will be held noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at Gresham Memorial Chapel.

Christopher was born Aug. 20, 1974, in Portland, to Rick Dailey and Cheryl “Mazie” White.

Christopher was preceded in death by his brother, Robbie Holbrook. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Lively Dailey; son, Justin Dailey; and brother, David Holbrook.

Donations in his memory may be made to The Christopher Dailey Memorial Fund at US Bank for funeral expenses.

Mark David Anderson

May 28, 1961-Oct. 6, 2013

Gresham resident Mark David Anderson died Sunday, Oct. 6. He was 52.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14, at Greater Gresham Baptist Church, 3848 N.E. Division St., in Gresham. A celebration of life will follow at Club Paesano Cedarville Park.

Mark was born May 28, 1961, in Portland, to Jerry and Linda Anderson. He grew up in Damascus and graduated from Sam Barlow High School in 1979.

On July 18, 1992, Mark married Tami Schaffer, in Gresham. He worked as a realtor and enjoyed hunting, golfing and camping.

He was preceded in death by his father. Mark is survived by his wife; daughters, Olivia and Madison Anderson; son, Mason Anderson; mother, Linda Anderson; and brother, Chris Anderson.

Portland resident Marth D. DePinto died Saturday, June 29, at age 83.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18, at St. Henry Catholic Church, 346 N.W. First Ave., Gresham. Private entombment will take place at Lincoln Memorial Park.

East County resident Harley Glenn Siron died Wednesday, Sept. 25. He was 85.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, at New Hope Community Church in Clackamas. A reception will follow.

Chris Leroy Crawford

Chris Leroy Crawford

Chris Leroy Crawford died in his sleep on September 30, 2013.

He was born July 16, 1957, to Ruth and Robert Crawford, who predeceased him. He grew up in Gresham in the years when the land was more likely to be covered with berry fields and woods than with housing developments. He graduated from Gresham High School in 1975. From 1976-1980, he served in the United States Army.

After his honorable discharge, he worked in the wood products industry, and later, in air freight services. At the time of his death, he was employed by Express, doing warehouse work.

Chris was a man with a big heart and high ideals. He felt things deeply, especially his love for his family and the natural world.

He is survived by his wife, Diana; his siblings, Donna Crawford of Richmond, Virginia, and Lyle Crawford of Gresham; his daughters and their husbands, Michelle and Jason Woosley, and Nicole and Josh Luedtke; four grandchildren, Corban, Zander, Shaila, and Kayla; and his much-loved cat, Shadow.
