Gail Marie McNeil-Hardy
January 1, 1926 - January 19, 2014-
Gail went home to be with Jesus on January 19, 2014 from complications of surgery. She was born January 1, 1926 on Oakville, Washington to Charles and Gladys Spencer. She joined a sister, Ethel and brother, Rod.
Gail and her family moved to Springfield when she was about 13. She attended the Springfield schools. While there, she would often take her old bicycle and ride
several miles to spend time with her sister and her nephews.
Gail married Walter Duane McNeil on May 11, 1946. The next year their first daughter, Sandra, was born, followed by their son, Gerry, twins Karen and Sharon, and then Diane. They had one more son, Ronnie, who passed away soon after birth.
Gail married John F. Hardy on October 1, 1973 and they moved to Madras.
Gail was a very active outdoors woman; she used to deer hunt, but later in life loved watching them. She was a great baker and many enjoyed her chocolate angel food cakes and her cinnamon rolls. She enjoyed gardening and garage sales.
She is survived by Sandra (Bob Daughs of Redmond, Gerry (Mary) of Christmas Valley, Karen Dershon of Madras, Sharon (Rich) Babcock of Eugene, Jim (Marsha) Hardy of McMinnville, and Dave Hardy of Kent, Wash., 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Also best friend, Janie Crader of Madras.
Both husbands, a son, Ronnie; daughter, Diane Parks
and granddaughter Nikki Fitzgerald will welcome her in
heaven. The family is planning a family service this summer
at the coast.
