Jack William Towe

October 22, 1932 - July 26, 2014-


Jack ToweJack William Towe, 81, of Madras, passed away on

July 26, 2014 after a brief illness. He was born in Cassville, Missouri on October 22, 1932 to parents Clyde Guyle and Aletha Lilas Towe.

Jack received his elementary education in Cassville until the 10th grade, at which time he traveled with his family to Warm Springs. Where there was employment in the

timber industry for the whole family. He then went on to

finish his high school education in Madras. Jack served his country in the U.S. Navy.

On December 14, 1960 he married Irene Boise and remained in Warm Springs until her death on April 9, 2005.

Together they raised her two sons, Randy and Tony Boise.

In 2009, he met his beloved companion Phyllis Rice and they enjoyed their remaining years together in Madras.

Jack owned and operated the Mobile Gas Station next to

the current Deschutes Crossing Café’ for several years, then bought his own log truck before he became the truck and rolling stock foreman at Warm Springs Forest Products

Industries until his retirement. He was known for his hard work ethics, great stories, sense of humor and generosity with his time. Jack was always available to come to the aid of his family and friends whenever they were in need of help. He loved to hunt, fish and camp with his family and he especially enjoyed working with his cattle and horses.

Jack is survived by his companion, Phyllis; stepsons Randy and Tony; nephews, Tim and Steve Black of Cape Fair,

Missouri; Kelly Black of Redmond; Kevin Black of Little Rock, Ark.; Wayne Towe of Gresham; three nieces, LaVerna Sebranke of Bothell, Wash., Vickie Gibbs of Christmas Valley and Jackie Gorham of White City. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Jack was preceded in death by his wife Irene, parents Clyde and Aletha, brother Bob, sister Lilas, and nephew Don Towe.

Jack will certainly be missed by all of is many friends

and family.
