Daniel Kerr Leonard
Daniel Kerr Leonard passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by his loving family, on November 8, 2013 at the age of 71. A memorial service was held on Monday, November 11, 2013, Veterans Day.
Dan was born in Pierce City, Missouri in 1942, one of three sons born to Paul and Mary Leonard (Bittick). He and his family would later move to Canyon City, Colorado, where he spent the majority of his adolescent years. At the ripe age of 17, Dan joined the United States Navy and proudly served for 20 years. During these years, Dan relocated to Portland, Oregon where he met and married his wife Barbara and together they raised three children.
Dan began work at Unified Sewerage Agency and attended Clackamas Community College to further his career. Twenty seven years later, at the age of 55, he retired from the agency as district manager. Although Dan was retired," he continued to build and remodel houses, which he loved to do. He also loved to travel and spend time with his friends and family.
Dan is survived by his wife, Barbara, and his three children; Greg, Tami and Jeff. He is also the proud beloved, grandfather to 10 grandchildren who will miss him deeply.
