Fred Feather, 88, of Lake Oswego, passed away unexpectedly on the evening of Wednesday, October 23 after a short illness. Fred was born in Denver, Colorado on July 8, 1925 to Charles and Ethel Feather. In 1931 Fred moved with his family to Portland.

Fred was in the U. S. Navy when he met and married Virginia Rodacker on June 20, 1948. Fred and Virginia celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1998. Fred was preceded in death by Virginia in 2000.

Fred spent many years involved in Boy Scouts and the U. S. Coast Guard Auxiliary achieving the rank of Flotilla Commander. Throughout his life he was well known for his infectiously positive attitude and ceaseless generosity. He was always prepared with a joke or humorous quote.

In 2001 Fred married long-time family friend Elaine (Kay) Newman. Fred and Kay spent many years together traveling, camping, fishing, and visiting family.

Fred is survived by his wife Kay and son Jeff of Lake Oswego; Daughter Jacki (Dan) Arrigoni of Kennewick, Washington; grandson Ben Arrigoni of Renton, Washington; and granddaughter Angela (David) Wichmann of Englewood, Colorado.
