Ruth Marie Warring

November 24, 1925 - December 10, 2013


Ruth Marie Warring, of Mount Angel, died Dec. 10, 2013, at the age of 88.

Ruth was born in St. Paul, Minn. to Charles and Irene Smith in 1925. She had three brothers, Thomas, Larry and Kenneth, and a sister Margaret. She graduated class of 1944 from St. Paul High School in Minnesota and when Ruth was 18 years old, the family moved to Woodburn. by: SUBMITTED - Ruth Warring

She met and married Don Warring in 1946. They had two children, Cecelia Ann and Michael Alan. Ruth later married Leonard Ramlo.

Ruth was an artist for many years, a member of the Woodburn Art Center, St. Luke Catholic Church, St. Luke’s choir and member of Sacred Heart Church in Gervais. In 1996 she and Don, her one true love, got back together and had three happy years together before he got sick. She nursed and took care of him until his death in 1998. In 2006 Ruth moved to Mount Angel and became a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

She is survived by daughter Cecelia Ann Prince, son Michael Alan Warring, brother Thomas, seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren, many cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.

Services were held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Dec. 13. Contributions can be made to the Sacred Heart School Fund.
