Dale Elmer Seaton

September 19, 1925 - April 6, 2014


Dale Elmer Seaton, of Woodburn, died at the age of 88 on April 6 at a local hospital.

Dale was born Sept. 19, 1925 in Moorhead, Iowa to Merlin and Esther (Jerup) Seaton.

He came to Oregon settling in Woodburn in the 1940s. He married Mary Marie Petshow in Woodburn on May 9, 1947.

Dale enjoyed golf, crossword puzzles and baseball. He was a member of the Elks Club in Woodburn.

Dale is survived by his children Gerald, of Woodburn, Leonard, of New Jersey, David, of Mulino, Lorraine McCarley, of Woodburn, Lawrence, of Woodburn, Nancy Guzzo, of Salem and Mary Pope, of Salem; his brother Norris, of Woodburn; sisters Violet Slaughter, of Salem, Ila Ziebart, of Salem and Ella Garboden, of Lebanon; 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great- great-grandson.

Dale was preceded in death by his spouse Mary, his sisters Norma, Nancy and Donna, brother Howard and granddaughter Jennifer Seaton.

Visitation will be held April 11 from 1 to 5 p.m. at Simon-Cornwell Colonial Chapel in Woodburn. A funeral will be held April 12 at 11 a.m. at Simon-Cornwell Colonial Chapel with interment to follow at St. Luke Catholic Cemetery in Woodburn.
