Stephen Rockhill

Stephen Rockhill, of Molalla, Oregon, died Sunday, March 16, 2014. He was 65.

He was born July 11, 1949, in Compton, Calif. to Frank and Peggy Rockhill.

In the 1970s, he came to Oregon, fell in love with the countryside and has lived here since.

He was the owner and operator of P.C. Rock Computer Shop in Molalla for more than 10 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his three children: daughters, Joi Poulin of Salem and Angela Smith of Colton; and son, Christopher Rockhill, of Molalla; 10 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

Carole Blythe Dunton

Carole Blythe Dunton of Liberal died March 24, 2014, after a long battle with breast cancer. She was 73. She was born in Colton, on Dec. 14, 1940, to Walter A. Axmaker and Mildred Freeman Axmaker.

When she was a young mother and homemaker in the early 1960s, she provided daycare services and custom seamstress work. As her children grew older she reentered the workforce and held various office and bookkeeping positions. After “retiring” in the late 1990s, she helped to start the Victory Seed Company on the family’s farm.

She loved to garden, create beautiful landscapes, making beautiful quilts, she loved being with her family, and sharing her love of God and her passion for life. She also loved her animals, singing, sewing, needlework, crafts, cooking and baking.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Lawrence Dunton; two children: Michael (Denise) Dunton of Liberal; Deborah (Charles) Sang of Bloomington, Illinois; two brothers; two sisters; eight grandchildren: four great-grandchildren; and many relatives.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m., on May 3, at the Evangelical Community Chapel. Private entombment in the family’s mausoleum was held with immediate family members in attendance.
