Deborah Lynne (Kishpaugh) Shanniak
April 1, 1960 - March 31, 2014
A Celebration of life will be held at Colton High School at 30205 Wall Street, Colton, Ore., on April 12, 2014 at 11 a.m. Debbie passed away at home on March 31 after being diagnosed with ovarian cancer just two weeks prior. She was 53.
Debbie was born on April 1, 1960 at Oregon City Hospital to Barrie and Nadine (Riddle) Kishpaugh. She was raised in Colton and graduated from Colton High School in 1978.
Debbie married Rob Shanniak November 10, 1979 and soon after moved to Bellingham, Wash., where they resided for a short time before returning to Colton.
In 1982 their son Brett was born followed by Bryan in 1987.
Debbie worked for Willamette Falls Hospital during high school and then was a stay-at-home Mom and took care of her friends kids until she went to work for Colton School District in 1994.
She was a dedicated mother and volunteer at the school and involved with her boys hobbies and sports and was a second Mom to all of their friends as well. Debbie continued to be a dedicated grandmother. She loved her grandchildren, and they were her inspiration to try and fight her battle. Debbie's interests were making her home warm and inviting and whatever her family was interested in. She loved to have weekly family dinners, and everyone was welcome any time.
Debbie is survived by her husband, Rob; son, Brett (Amy) and son, Bryan (Ericka); four grandchildren, Wyatt, Teaghann, Ryhan and Braedyn; and brother, Barrie Kishpaugh Jr. (Kelly).
Debbie was preceded in death by her father, Barrie Kishpaugh Sr.; and mother Nadine Kishpaugh.
