Norma Mae DeVoe

August 6, 1923 to November 1, 2013


Norma Mae DeVoe was born the daughter of Raymond and Catherine (Walsh) McKimmey on Monday, August 6, 1923, in Cleveland, Ohio.

Norma attended college in Los Angeles, California and received an Associate of Arts degree in Accounting. On March 19, 1953 she married Charles C. DeVoe, Sr., in Los Angeles. Charles was a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, and following their marriage, Norma and Charles moved to Long Island, New York. The family moved to Oregon in 1964 and made their home in Medford, Oregon. Norma worked in the banking industry as a loan officer. In 1994, Norma moved to Florida for her retirement, and in 2003, she moved to Newberg. Norma was a devoted grandmother, an avid reader, enjoyed world travel, walking, crossword puzzles, and coin collecting.

On Friday, November 1, 2013, Norma Mae DeVoe died at her residence when she was 90 years, 2 months and 26 days of age.

Surviving and left to honor her life are: her son Charles C. DeVoe, Jr. of Newberg; her sister Gail Wessman of San Francisco Bay area; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and those who have come to know and appreciate her where she has lived and worked. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles on November 23, 1982.

Her Graveside Service was held Thursday, November 7, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in Eagle Point National Cemetery, White City, Oregon. Arrangements were in the care of Attrell’s Newberg Funeral Chapel, a Golden Rule Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.attrells.com.
