William T. Clevenger

February 15, 1920 to December 12, 2013


William (Bill) Clevenger was born the son of Sam and Rachael (Morten) Clevenger on Sunday, February 15, 1920, in Choctaw, OK.

Bill was raised in Texas, and he served in the U.S. Army during WWII, spending 2½ years in the Aleutian Islands where he fought in the Battle of Attu; he also spent several months in Panama. He married Dona Mardock on April 19, 1946, in Vancouver, WA. Bill farmed for several years, and he was also a Chevrolet auto mechanic for 35 years.

On Thursday, December 12, 2013, William T. Clevenger died at a local healthcare facility when he was 93 years of age.

Surviving and left to honor his life are: His wife Dona of Newberg; 3 sons, Bill of Plantersville, TX, Terry of Sheridan, OR, and Steve of Lafayette; his sister, Lois Lancaster of Midland, TX; several grandchildren and those who have come to know and appreciate him where he has lived and worked. His brothers, Charlie, Leonard, Sam “Junior”, Raymond, and his sisters Beateres “Bea” Stanley, Frances “Lil”, and Gladys Clevenger preceded him in death.

A private Committal Service will be held at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. Arrangements are in the care of Newberg Funeral Chapel, a Golden Rule Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.attrells.com.
