Lisa Hereford

December 11, 1966 - January 4, 2014

Lisa HerefordLisa Ann Hereford went to be with her Lord and Saviour on January 4, 2014. Lisa was born December 11, 1966 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and is survived by her loving children, Stephanie Robertson Maier of Beaverton and Christian Hereford of Newberg, her parents, Carole Pletz of Scappoose and Tim Sacora of Palm Springs, California, and her former husband Brett Hereford of Newberg.

Lisa moved to Newberg from the Portland area in 1998 and quickly made many close friends with whom she shared her love of life and her never-ending passion for assisting anyone who needed a helping hand, no matter how small or how difficult it was for her. She loved to volunteer her time helping worthwhile charities and organizations, including Mercy Chefs with whom she helped in preparing food for the Haitian people after the devastating 7.0 earthquake that destroyed most of their island in 2010. The following year Lisa returned once more to Haiti, this time with her son, Christian, where they both volunteered their time in orphanages, helping children who had lost their parents in the earthquake. For more than 10 years she was also a regular volunteer for Celebrate Recovery.

In her spare time Lisa took great pleasure and pride in crafts of many kinds, from oil painting to pottery, to cooking and baking, always demonstrating exceptional talent in every endeavor. She was truly artistic in the best sense of the word.

Lisa’s remarkable faith in a loving and ever forgiving God was a living testament to everyone who knew her. She will always be deeply missed by her family and her many friends.
