Tom Caldwell

March 22, 1968–August 30, 2013

Tom Caldwell of Aurora, OR, son of Dave and Mary Caldwell of Donald, OR, lost his hard fought battle with ­cancer in the early morning of August 30, 2013.

Tom CaldwellTom was a 1986 graduate of Oregon City High School. After high school, Tom worked at Tektronix and then Xerox in Wilsonville, OR, and James River Paper Mill in West Linn, OR. After receiving his AS in Automotive Technology from Clackamas Community College, he was employed by Weygant's Auto Supply and then Wilson's Napa Auto Parts in Canby, OR.

Tom's love of automobiles and his mechanical skills gave him the opportunity to work with his uncle, Bob Caldwell, as part of Donn Hosford's and Todd Miller's Alcohol Drag Racing teams, competing at several western Drag Strips. Despite his fight with cancer, he was able to continue as part of the Todd Miller Race Team until early August, 2013.

Tom is survived by his parents Dave and Mary, ­sister Karen Caldwell of Sherwood, OR, wife Mary and daughter Madison of Aurora, step-son E3 Jake and wife Jessica Foust of Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Lakewood, WA, and step-daughter Samantha Barish of Aurora.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the “Tom Caldwell Benefit Fund” at US Bank or at Tom's Celebration of Life on September 14, 2013, from

­2-6pm at the American Legion Hall, 424 NW 1st Ave., Canby, OR.
