Richard David Ball

Richard David, 67 died on September 2, 2013 in Clackamas. He was born on December 7, 1945 in The Dalles, Oregon to Malvin & Davina Ball. He was raised on a wheat & cattle ranch nearby in Dufur. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree at Portland State University.
Prior to coming to Canby, he taught a year in Los Angeles, a year at Fossil, Oregon, two years at Portland State University while obtaining his Master's degree, and six years at St. Paul High School. It was at Portland State University that he met his future wife, Florence. They resided in Newberg while Richard taught and coached at St. Paul High School.
He and his family moved to Canby in 1978 and he taught mathematics at the high school there for 21 years before retiring in 1999. For the first seven years at Canby High School, he was an Assistant Track Coach. He was a member of Grandview Baptist Church. He was an avid sports fan attending many of the Canby High School and Portland State University athletic events. He, also, had an interest in genealogy, family, and travel.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years; daughter, DeAnna of Salem; son, David of Milwaukie, and brother, Gordon of Woodburn; and two grandchildren.
