Ervin L. Jordan

November 18, 1931 - October 23, 2013 -


Ervin L. Jordan, 81, of Canby, died Oct. 23, 2013.

He was born Nov. 18, 1931, in Roosevelt, Minn., to Eleanor and William Jordan.

He graduated high school and on Nov. 16, 1959, married Alice Burk.

He served in the U.S. Army as a staff sergeant in the 73rd Heavy Tank Battalion. He received a Purple Heart and four gold medals.

He was the supervisor for Publishers and Smurfit paper mills for 38 years.

He was a high priest in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Survivors include his wife; daughters, Allyson Jordan, of Canby, Jodi Ganir, of Bend, and Chris Andrews, of Missouri; son, Rick Clements, of Rex Berg, Idaho; 16 grandchildren; and 52 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, Oct. 31, at 10 a.m. at the LDS Chapel in Canby. Burial with military honors will be at 2 p.m. at Willamette National Cemetery.
