Ilse Oma Maier

August 21, 1933 ~ January 19, 2014

In loving memory of Ilse “Oma” Maier

Born in Dahlen, Germany on Aug. 21, 1933 and passed away on Jan. 19, 2014 in Portland, Ore.

Family and friends were her passion and delight, especially the little ones! Being married to Walter “Opa” for 52 years were the most joyous times in her life, such love and commitment to each other was amazing. It is something we all witnessed and will learn from. Our sadness today of her passing is truly her happiness, simply because she is now reunited with him once again.

Ilse was survived by her three children; Aila, Tomas, and Mickey along with her eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren as well as so many more loving relatives and friends! Her smile and caring nature touched each of us and she will be remembered for generations to come.

She requested a private celebration of life ceremony that will include an outing with family in Prineville, where Ilse and Walter lived out several years in their dream home overlooking the Majestic Central Oregon Mountains. I know she has appreciated all of those who cared for her in the past, know that her love will be with us always.

Donations may be made to the Clear Creek Community Church at 4100 SE 182nd, Gresham, OR 97030. Please feel free to leave your condolences and light a candle on-line in memory of her at www.anewtradition.com.
