Paulette's Journey:

Born in Bradley, Ill., Mrs. Gershon was the only child of Paul and Esther Harris. She saved her money to leave her small hometown and moved to Los Angeles with her girlfriend Sandy.

She met Mike Gershon in New Orleans at an A&P grocery store during the 1972 Mardi Gras festival.  They married July 29, 1973, and held the reception at their home in Santa Monica. They toured Europe in 1975, before they started their family. Daughter Erika was born in 1977, followed by Danielle in 1979. The family moved to Edina, Minn., and then to Potomac, Md., before moving to San Jose in 1983, where daughter Michelle was born in 1984. The family moved to Lake Oswego in April 1986, and have lived in the same home for 26 years.

Mrs. Gershon volunteered at her children’s schools and in the community. She was a great cook and hostess and hosted 50 to 60 wedding and baby showers over the years. She was a calligrapher extraordinaire for many of her friends. She was a member of a mah jongg group, two bunko groups, two book clubs, two bridge groups and a birthday group.  She was also a member of Curves and Lake Oswego Junior Women’s Club. She was an avid morning walking buddy and had a great smile and sense of humor.  She was a devoted friend and added to her family circle the Galmiches, Rusts and Zmrhals. She enjoyed traveling and cruising and was a season subscriber to three theater production companies. She loved to go and do and grabbed life with gusto. She loved her girls and Michael.
