Einar M. Nordahl

June 9, 1923 to Sept. 27, 2013


Longtime Lake Oswego resident Einar M. Nordahl died Sept. 27, 2013. He was 90.

Mr. Nordahl was born in Manistique, Mich. to Olaf and Anna Margaret Nordahl.He grew up in Chicago, Ill. and graduated from Foreman High School in Chicago. He earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from University of Southern California in 1949.

He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and earned the American Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Metal and WWII Victory Medal.

Mr. Nordahl was a certfied public accountant and tax partner with Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. He retired in 1977.

He married Roberta M.Russell on Aug. 14, 1954 in Los Angeles, Calif. The couple moved to Lake Oswego in 1960. Mrs. Nordahl died Sept. 23, 1997.

Mr. Nordahl enjoyed travel, reading and watching sports. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, the Arlington Club and served on the board of directors of the Dougy Center, Life Trustee Marylhurst University and the Sons of Norway.

Survivors include daughter and son-in-law Karen and Mark Berner, Fresno, Calif., daughter Carol Nordahl, Lake Oswego and son and daughter-in-law Erik and Martha Nordahl, Monrovia, Calif. and five grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Oct. 5 at 11 a.m. at Adams Memorial Chapel at River View Cemetery, 0300 Taylors Ferry Road in Portland.
