Richard 'Dick' Hoover

Lake Oswego resident Richard ‘Dick’ Hoover died peacefully at his home on Jan. 17, 2014.

He was 75, a beloved father, grandfather, friend and husband. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, wife Kathleen S. (Davis) Hoover, and his loving grandson, Jason MacDonald. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Teri MacDonald and Ron Van Der Jagt, Kelly Hoover, Suzy Wolff and Dan Wolff and Teri Davis; and three grandchildren, Melissa MacDonald, Emily and Sam Wolff.

Born in DeWitt, Ark. on Jan. 30, 1938 and raised in Kentucky, Dick was a veteran of the Navy, a sales rep and spent the last 12 years loving his job at the Mountain Park Racket Club, where he was loved by both staff and members for his gentle manner and dry humor.

He enjoyed golf, travel and sharing great food and libations with his family and friends, spoiling his pets and making those around him laugh and feel loved. Dick was a devoted father and grandfather. He is already sorely missed!

A celebration of his life will be held in August 2014.
